These steps show you how to upload a PDF of your syllabus to your Canvas course.

You must first have created the PDF file and have it ready to upload. It's best not to have it open. Just know where you have it on your computer/device.

Follow these steps below to open the Syllabus screen in Canvas and upload your file:
Those first two steps should bring you to this next screen.
The text typed here is just a sample.
It is important to highlight the text that will be clicked on by the student before you proceed.
Step #4 - this is the button to attach a document. It will show options of where to find the document.
You will want to choose one of these two options:
"Upload Document" if the PDF is to be obtained somewhere on your device.
"Course Documents" if you have already uploaded the PDF to your Canvas "Files" area.
Step #5
If you choose this, your course assignment list will be displayed on the syllabus page.
Once you have clicked the "Update Syllabus" button, your PDF will be available for students to view online or to download for later reading.
