Submitting a Photo

Some assignments may require you to take a photo of artwork for submission. This article tells you how to go from a photo in your phone to submitting the image to the assignment.  

Tip: A photo doesn't have to be perfect for submission. Most any photo will work just fine.

Steps Overview

Here are the basic steps you'll follow:

  1. Share the photo from your phone via email.
  2. Save the photo from email to the computer.
  3. Submit the photo to your assignment
Share the Photo to Yourself

Once you've taken the photo, you'll want to view it in your photo app. Then tap the Share button.

You may be asked to set an image size. A large-size image should allow your instructor to see plenty of detail. (Depending on your phone's camera, Usually no need to send full-size.)

After the messge is sent, you'll normally go back to viewing the photo.

Save the Photo from Email

Next, you'll want to access your email and save the image to the computer.

  1. Log into your email account.
  2. Open the message with the photo you sent to yourself.
Attach the Photo to an Assignment

Now that the Photo is saved, you're ready to attach it to your assignment.

  1. Log into Digication.
  2. Display your course.
Successful Submission

After your submission, you'll see your photo and optional comment listed. Most assignments will have a Critique step where your instructor will offer critique/feedback on your assignment.


Some time after your submission, you'll want to look for critique from your instructor. This article shows you what to look for and how to view the critique.
