Hot Spot Question

In a Hot Spot question, you provide an image file. It could be a photo, a drawing, any kind of image file that you can upload from your computer. Once you have uploaded the image, you instruct the student to click on a specific item or area in the image that is meaningful to the quiz topic.

When you create the question, you must indicate the item/area where the student is expected to click by drawing a circle or rectangle around the spot. With this information Canvas will be able to score the click as correct or incorrect.

This next image shows the three different shape options available for you to make the indicator to show where the student must click. You can make it a large or small area, as needed. The three options are rectangle, oval or polygon.

Be sure to note the warning at the #1 item below. Students who can only use keyboards or who use on-screen readers will not be able to answer a Hot Spot quiz question.
