You can set a page, module or other Canvas element as the Home page, which appears whenever a student logs into your course.

Before you can set a Canvas page as a home page, you must tell Canvas it can be used as a Front Page.

Click Home, then choose Choose Home Page.

You can choose any page from your course, or employ a navigation element (e.g. Syllabus, Modules, etc.) as the home page.
You can change the Home page whenever you wish. For example, you could have the Welcome page display the first week of class, then switch it to the Syllabus or Modules element later.
