Saving from Word Online to Your Hard Drive

In this article, you'll learn how to save a document you've been editing to your OneDrive cloud storage and to your computer's hard drive.

Whenever you edit a document in Word Online (or another web-based Office 365 app, your file is automatically saved to OneDrive cloud storage.

Saving a Document Back to Your Hard Drive

Word Online immediately saves a copy of your document to your Downloads folder.

Make sure you move the downloaded file back into the folder it came from.
